We’re an online community that is created for the fans, by the fans, to unite those who support the return of NBA to Vancouver. Our message is simple: We deserve another chance to support a new NBA franchise in Vancouver! As we grow, we plan to use our community as a platform to do a lot of positive things, like donating time and money to various charitable organizations. Also, we fully understand that getting a team next year is unrealistic, but in 5 to 10 years, Van City should be just as good of an option as any other U.S. destination. Please keep in mind that this project is still in its developing stages - which is why your support is vital to our growth - And in case you're not aware: we are in no way affiliated with the NBA. “I have a standing offer on the table to help bring a team back to Vancouver. And I’ve got Jack Armstrong and Paul Jonesy on board as well.  We each offered-up $25,000 to a potential “expansion bid”.  We figure we need about $250 million to really make a run at a relocation, so we’re only about $249,925,000 shy :)”
As a frequent reader of Eric’s blogs, I learned about his attempt to bring back an NBA team to Van City. So, to help him shed more light on this, I am happy to place his idea in the forefront of our web page. Here it is in his own words:

While talking about our cause (vancouvernba.org) on THE FAN590 "Hoops" show, Eric Smith, Paul Jones, and Jack Armstrong decided to increase their bids to help bring back NBA to Vancouver. Also, one of their regular listeners Tom Liston confirmed (via Twitter) that he has upped his bid to $10,000. So, the break down goes like this: Jack ($75,000) + Eric ($30,000) + Paul ($30,000) + Tom ($10,000) = $145,000

Hey everyone,

First and foremost, I would like to thank everyone who has expressed their support thus far. Second, NO - we're not shutting down our website, as this is only a quick notice to let you know that we're moving our site to a new web hosting provider.

Over the last few months, due to some technical difficulties with our servers, we lost some of our valuable data (archived articles, survey results, forum, blog...and more). Unfortunately, I was not able to recover those files, but everything else is safe.

Additionally, since I'm the only person developing/maintaining our community, which takes a lot of time and effort, I was unable to spend as much time as necessary operating and maintaining our website, due to work and numerous unplanned (personal) issues. So, I hope that some of you will understand - and if anyone out there is interested in helping me with the maintenance of our website, please feel free to email me. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

The process of moving our website over to the new servers will take some time (10-20 days, hopefully sooner), so till then, I ask for your patience and understanding. I will leave this site up and running for those who maybe here for the first time and wish to explore through - but please note that some of our pages may not work properly **due to our issues with the current server**

For those who would like to get in touch with me, please feel free to email me at the new email address:

vancouvernbaorg@gmail.com

Once gain, thank for your understanding and support.

Best regards,
- Damir
